Royalton posts water-tower bids and advances property-vacation request

Royalton city officials announced on Jan. 6 that bids for a planned water tower project will be accepted online through QuestCDN.com until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026; bids will be opened and publicly read through Microsoft Teams, according to a letter from Bolton-Menk engineer Philip Martin.
Separately, Planning and Zoning Chair Tim Majaski told the council that property owner Scott Kalis asked the city to vacate two feet of property (PID 44.0237.000) on the west side of South Elm Street. The council voted to move forward with the vacation process and will set a public hearing at the next council meeting.
Council Member Lanners moved to approve advancing the vacation request; Council Member Verley seconded and the motion carried with all members voting aye. The water tower bid notice allows the city to take formal action at a future meeting after bids are opened and evaluated.
