The Crawfordsville Board of Public Works and Public Safety on March 11 approved summer event permits proposed by Crawfordsville Main Street, including four First Friday dates and four Lunch on the Plaza dates.
Jami Harrington of Crawfordsville Main Street presented the request for First Friday events on June 5, July 17, Aug. 7 and Sept. 4, and asked for use of the park and a temporary closure of W. Pike Street for set up, the event and take down (the meeting text lists the closure time as "lp -10p"). The request included three road barricades to block access from the library and the W. Pike parking lot and one no-parking sign on the west side of S. Washington for a music vendor. The board recorded a motion by Erin Corbin, seconded by Susan Albrecht, that passed to approve the requests.
Harrington also requested Lunch on the Plaza on June 19, July 17, Aug. 21 and Sept. 18, with use of the Plaza from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The board approved those dates in the same motion.
Board members did not record additional conditions in the meeting text. The board’s approval allows Crawfordsville Main Street to proceed with event logistics subject to any permitting or public-safety requirements not detailed in the minutes.
The board proceeded to other business and adjourned after department reports.
