Public works: Denneson Park breaking ground; street and park maintenance underway

Public Works Lead Joe Adams said Denneson Park broke ground that day and crews expect it to be completed by Thursday. Adams advised residents not to blow grass into the street. He said work on 5th Street will resume the following day to rework dirt and hydroseed; the timeline for placing an asphalt curb has not yet been determined. Adams also said he reached out to engineering firm WHKS about the Walnut Street project and that Tim Hrushka was to contact Snow (the contractor/consultant) for a review to ensure all parties are satisfied. The brush cleanup effort went well and the crew now uses a shared dump trailer. Mantor Field toilets were replaced because the old fixtures could not be repaired (parts no longer available). The city also received two benches donated by the Lions Club.
