Calhoun County authorizes EMS director to sign contract with Stewart Memorial Community Hospital

On Aug. 13, 2024 the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors authorized EMS Director Bruce Musgrave to sign a new contract between Calhoun County EMS and Stewart Memorial Community Hospital. The action was approved unanimously on a motion by Scott Becker, seconded by Scott Jacobs.
Musgrave presented departmental updates during the meeting at the Calhoun County Courthouse in Rockwell City; Chief Nursing Officer Ann Lengeling was present for the discussion. The board’s authorization allows the EMS director to finalize the local service agreement with Stewart Memorial Community Hospital; the transcript records no additional contractual terms at this meeting.
Public Health Director Barb Riley also presented a separate item: the Screenagers Project, with an estimated cost of $1,550. Riley said the money could possibly come from the county's opioid settlement and that she would complete the application. The board discussed how departmental donations are receipted and expended but made no formal policy changes at the meeting.
The board’s next regularly scheduled meeting is Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.
