DNR permit received for Gilbertson Road rip-rap project; temporary closures expected

Public Works/Maintenance Supervisor Trenten Chiglo told the Rushford Village council on Sept. 17 that the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources issued a permit for rip-rap installation on Gilbertson Road. The permit fee was recorded in the minutes as $1,200.
Chiglo said the city will contact residents who live on Gilbertson Road to discuss the project timing and warned that the road will be closed intermittently when rip-rap is being set. Road signs have been ordered and additional culvert markers will be purchased.
Chiglo also reported routine ditch mowing to reduce winter snow drifting. He said Kyle Chiglo will cover maintenance duties and hold the maintenance phone while he is on vacation and while attending wastewater refresher training and exam.
