The Rushford Village Council on July 2 approved routine financial and operational items, including June financials, technology purchases, election judge appointments and a propane prebuy for 2024–2025.
Treasurer Judy Graham presented June financials showing $44,003.94 in expenses, $323,210.02 in receipts, outstanding checks of $29,507.57 and a bank balance of $388,658.56; the council approved the report (motion by Robert Hart, second Mike Ebner; carried). The council also discussed the 2024 spring clean-up, which Miner said showed a loss of $998.98; members noted roll-off costs were the largest expense and agreed to review county electronics charges and potential price changes next year.
On technology and equipment, council approved a Dell quote for two desktop towers totaling $1,654.42 (does not include monitors, keyboards or mice) and approved purchasing a replacement document scanner after the current model could not be updated. Mayor Dennis Overland estimated the scanner replacement would cost about $400–$500. Motions approving the Dell quote and the scanner purchase were carried.
Council approved the slate of primary-election judges who completed required training on June 26. The council also approved a consolidated propane prebuy of 750 gallons at $1.59 per gallon for the 2024–2025 season. Clerk Mary Miner will publish meeting notices and filings in the Fillmore County Journal and on village posting locations. Because Council members Mike Ebner, Dennis Overland and Robert Hart would be unavailable for July 16, the council voted to cancel that meeting for lack of quorum. The meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
