Ambulance Director Joey Busse told the council he had been contacted by Ryan Buchholz of Fire Safety U.S.A., who reported the lone $2,500 bid for the retired rig. Council members said the offer was too low.
Councilor Andrew Linder moved, and Councilor Nick Smith seconded, to bring the vehicle back from the broker and pursue a direct sale; the motion carried. The council did not accept the $2,500 offer and did not authorize sale through the broker.
The decision leaves the city responsible for arranging local sale logistics; no timetable was specified.
