Presenter says Lenox walking-trail Phase 3 is about $160,000 short; finance committee to review

Jo Adams, who attended the Oct. 28 meeting as a visitor, described Phase 3 of the Lenox walking trail project, saying the phase "is short approximately $160,000." Adams asked the council for assistance advancing the project, which will connect on Locust Street and continue out to the golf course.
City Administrator Allison Kitzman told the council the city had "previously approved $10,000 per phase" and that Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) funds could be used on the project. Kitzman offered to meet with the Finance Committee to review allocated funds already budgeted for the trail and other projects. Council directed the Finance Committee to meet and to place the matter on a future agenda for further consideration.
Adams said Lenox has generous donors who have supported past phases; council members acknowledged the project's community support but did not commit city funding beyond existing approvals at the meeting. The Finance Committee review will determine whether additional city resources or allocations can be identified.
