Calhoun County supervisors approve claims, equipment purchases and note ARP deadline

At its Sept. 10 meeting the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors approved claims and equipment purchases, accepted a $800 DD27 work order, approved plow truck quotes, recorded an upcoming retirement and discussed ARP obligations that must be obligated by year-end.
The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors approved routine claims and several equipment and service purchases during its Sept. 10, 2024 meeting in Rockwell City.
On a motion by Vice Chairman Scott Jacobs, seconded by Chairman Carl Legore, the board reviewed and allowed claims checks numbered 77557–77649, bank drafts DFT0004370–0004385, and stamped warrant SW505786 as presented. The board also approved work order C-09-2023 to Wieston Ag Service, Inc. for $800 on drainage district DD 27 and approved plow truck quotes as presented.
Nick Buse, Calhoun/Sac County Engineer, delivered department updates (Assistant to the Engineer Mike Moeller and BJ Musselman were present). The minutes record that Kevin Reiter, a mechanic in the Rockwell City shop, will retire on Dec. 20, 2024. Elias Tashiro of TED Renewables requested a meeting with the supervisors on Sept. 24 to discuss solar energy. Bruce Musgrave, EMS Director, presented the department's monthly report and updates.
The board also discussed American Rescue Plan (ARP) obligations and noted that all unfinished ARP projects must have funds obligated by the end of 2024; the item will return to the Sept. 17 agenda for finalization. The meeting adjourned with the next regular session set for Sept. 17, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
