Calhoun County hears drainage and engineering updates, holds closed session on litigation

The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors on Sept. 3 received engineering and drainage updates, scheduled a local zoning meeting, and held a closed session to discuss litigation strategy. Nick Buse, Calhoun/Sac County Engineer, told the board he has been working on the Sunset Acres II Addition and noted a zoning meeting scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 5 at 10:00 AM in the wellness room. Mike Moeller, assistant to the engineer, was present.
Eric Yunginger, assistant drainage engineer for Buena Vista/Calhoun/Sac County, provided updates on Drainage District 75; Brian Blomme, drainage engineer, was also present. The board also conducted a telephonic call with Sac County concerning Joint Drainage District Calhoun 119–Sac 20; the minutes state full details are available from the Calhoun County Auditor's office.
At 9:47 AM the board moved into closed session under Iowa Code 21.5(1)(c) to discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are in litigation or where litigation is imminent; Scott Jacobs made the motion and Carl Legore seconded. The board returned from closed session at 10:19 AM on a motion by Jacobs, seconded by Legore. The minutes record no public disclosures about the subject matter discussed in closed session.
The board approved routine agenda items and adjourned to its next regular meeting on Sept. 10, 2024, at 9:00 AM.
