Rushford Village planning commission logs new permit applications, notes gate setback and upcoming Ladewig subdivision review

The Rushford Village Planning and Zoning Commission approved its agenda and Sept. 17 minutes and recorded a slate of new permit applications at its Oct. 15 meeting.
Planning and Zoning Administrator Jon Pettit opened the meeting at 5:36 p.m. and noted members present (Gordon Johnson, Glen Kopperud and Hamilton Petersen) and one absence (Jesse McNamer). The commission approved the agenda on a motion by Gordon Johnson, seconded by Glen Kopperud, and likewise approved the Sept. 17 minutes on a motion by Johnson, seconded by Kopperud.
The commission recorded nine new permit filings: #1681 (Kjersta Hinz/Landon Skalet — fence on Goodrich St. S), #1682 (Rollie Ronnenberg — window replacement on Main St.), #1683 (Robert Forsythe — on-barn work, repair sliding door, two windows on Ridgeview Rd.), #1684 and #1685 (Robert Sammann — a 15'x48' lean-on shed and a 10'x16' utility shed on Village Road), #1686 (Greg Larson — 6' backyard fence on Goodrich St.), #1687 (Craig Hanson — replace three windows, walkthrough door, overhead door and siding on a shed on State Hwy 30), #1688 and #1689 (Rod Morcomb — remodel downstairs and upstairs bathrooms on Hillview Dr.), and #1690 (Jack Hedin — 16'x10' storage shed on State Highway 30). Pettit noted that Machutt is erecting a permitted shed on Tower Ridge.
Pettit said Robert Sammann’s gate must be set 33 feet from the center of the road; Sammann will receive a permit application to comply. Pettit also said he told Greg Larson that Rushford Village does not maintain property-line records and advised Larson to coordinate with his neighbors about fence placement. Pettit reported that Jesse McNamer had inquired about placing a second residence on an existing parcel; Pettit said that would likely require splitting the parcel and recommended discussing the matter in person when McNamer could attend.
The agenda listed CEDA updates from Rebecca Charles on the comprehensive plan, but Charles was ill and provided a monthly report for the commission’s review. The commission recorded two upcoming civic dates: the general election on Nov. 5 (polls open 7 a.m.–8 p.m. at CRV Hall) and the Truth in Taxation meeting on Dec. 3 at 6:45 p.m. at the CRV office. The next Zoning Board meeting was scheduled for Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m.; council meetings are scheduled for Oct. 15 and Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m.
Gordon Johnson moved to adjourn; Glen Kopperud seconded, and the meeting adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
