Harrison Township board approves bills, adopts county hazard mitigation plan and OKs consulting contracts

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Chairman Gary Meanor. Commissioner Jamie Nee moved to approve the bills payable as of May 22, 2026, totaling $275,252.94; Commissioner Johnson seconded, and "all in favor, motion carried." The board also approved the April 26, 2026 meeting minutes on a motion by Commissioner Nee, seconded by Commissioner James Erb.
The board adopted Resolution No. 2035, approving the Allegheny County 2026 Hazard Mitigation Plan after a motion by Commissioner James Erb and a second from Commissioner Johnson. The resolution formally adopts the county plan for the township, aligning local hazard mitigation efforts with the countywide strategy.
The board accepted the retirements of Bill Huet and Ron McClain, each effective June 30, 2026. Chairman Gary Meanor moved to accept Huet's retirement (seconded by Commissioner Nee). Commissioner Nee moved to accept McClain's retirement and Commissioner Erb seconded; both motions carried with all commissioners voting in favor.
On the subject of implementing the Alle-Kiski Emergency Services Authority, Commissioner Jamie Nee moved and Commissioner Johnson seconded approval of a proposal from ROBB Consulting LLC "not to exceed the $35,000 township grant" for consulting services; that motion carried. Chairman Meanor moved and Commissioner Nee seconded approval of a proposal from Mette Attorneys at Law, likewise not to exceed the $35,000 township grant for legal consulting to implement the Alle-Kiski Emergency Services Authority; that motion also carried.
The board accepted the resignation of Annette Valasek as the alternate to the Zoning Hearing Board and voted to accept applications from interested parties through June 19, 2026 at 12:01 P.M.
The board authorized three insurance policy renewals for the 2026–2027 policy year: the MRM Property and Liability Trust Package for $102,310 (motion by Commissioner Erb, seconded by Commissioner Nee); the Police Professional Liability policy for $20,568 (motion by Chairman Meanor, seconded by Commissioner Nee); and the Public Officials Management & Employment Practices Liability policy for $24,587 (motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Nee). All motions carried with "all in favor, motion carried."
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn at 6:47 P.M. The approvals recorded in the minutes were unanimous among the commissioners present.
