The city administrator announced a timely petition asking that the question of entering into a loan agreement be submitted to registered voters. Council Member Michael Cook moved to adjourn further action on the loan agreement to the May meeting; the date was amended to May 18 to coincide with the regularly scheduled council meeting. Council Member Mike Fletcher seconded the amended motion and the vote was unanimous.
The action accepts the petition under Iowa Code provisions stated in the record and postpones any council decision on the loan agreement until the May meeting, at which the council will consider next steps including the possibility of submitting the question to voters.
