Dubois County Council approves appropriations, transfers and 2025 appointments

The Dubois County Council unanimously approved several budget adjustments and appointments at its Dec. 16, 2024 meeting.
Auditor Sandra L. Morton requested multiple actions to reconcile year-end needs. Council members voted to increase hours for a part-time librarian who is scanning older meeting minutes from 20 to up to 40 hours per week, retroactive to Nov. 18, 2024. The motion was made by Council member Ryan Craig, seconded by Sonya Haas, and carried unanimously.
The council approved a $93,000 additional appropriation from the Cum Bridge Fund Capital Outlay for Bridge 78 after Auditor Morton presented the request; Meredith Voegerl moved, Sonya Haas seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The council also approved a $35,000 additional appropriation from the LIT-ED Fund Capital Outlay for courthouse security equipment on a motion by Ryan Craig, seconded by Meredith Voegerl.
Several smaller transfers of appropriation in the General Fund were approved to cover equipment and PTO payouts: $1,025 from Supplies to Capital Outlay in the Clerk's budget, $1,010 from Other Services to Capital Outlay in the Purdue Extension budget, $38.96 within the Prosecutor's budget for a PTO payout, and $639.01 within the Adult Probation Fund (Comp Time to Personal Services for a probation assistant). All transfers were moved and seconded as listed in the meeting record and carried unanimously.
The council also confirmed multiple 2025 appointments. On a motion by Meredith Voegerl, seconded by President Michael W. Kluesner, the council approved appointments to the Dubois County Regional Sewer District, including Deena J. Lewis (Council; term expires Jan. 31, 2029), Matt Krempp (Northeast Dubois School Corp; term expires Jan. 31, 2029) and David Ring (Southwest Dubois School Corp; term expires Jan. 31, 2029). Separately, on a motion by Ryan Craig, seconded by Alex Hohl, the council approved a slate of board and commission appointments for 2025 as recorded in the minutes.
The meeting record indicates all motions noted above were carried unanimously. The council adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
