Dubois County commissioners adopt two clerical-fix ordinances to correct contract and solar code language

The Dubois County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 2 unanimously adopted two ordinances to correct clerical errors in county code and contract language. County Attorney Gregory S. Schnarr presented both measures and the board voted to approve each as presented.
Ordinance 2024‑17 amends Exhibit A of Ordinance No. 2024‑12 (County Contract Requirements) to replace the existing “Termination Clause” with new language specifying how the county may terminate agreements, compensation for work completed before termination, and a limitation preventing total payment from exceeding the original contract amount. Schnarr said the change corrects a clerical error in the previously adopted exhibit.
Ordinance 2024‑18 fixes an abbreviation mistake in the county’s commercial solar-energy ordinance (Ordinance 2022‑12). The code used the abbreviation “CSC System” where the defining section and related provisions use “CSE System”; the amendment replaces every instance of “CSC System” with “CSE System.” Schnarr characterized the measure as a technical correction to ensure internal consistency in the county code.
Both ordinances were adopted by unanimous voice vote of the three commissioners present. According to the ordinances, each takes effect following passage and completion of any required legal steps.
