North Elementary Principal and Curriculum Coordinator Darin Doherty presented the Board with final recommendations for K–12 English Language Arts and Social Studies instructional materials on May 20.
Doherty said educators from every grade level participated in the review process and materials were evaluated against Minnesota Department of Education standards and district rubrics. The Education and Business Committees vetted the proposal in April and the Board reviewed it at the May Study Session before voting.
On a motion by Drew Dixon, seconded by Bill Kautt, the Board approved the recommended ELA and Social Studies curriculum purchases unanimously. No amendments or financing changes were announced during the meeting.
