At its June 22 special meeting, the Hackberry Elementary School District #3 governing board approved a large package of policy actions, voting 4-0 on multiple motions that deleted, revised, or adopted new personnel and operational policies. The approvals covered a wide range of policy advisories, including equal employment opportunity, staff ethics and conflict-of-interest rules, staff conduct and health provisions, procedures for leaves and evaluations, and vandalism reporting protocols.
Motions were made and passed in discrete groups. For example, Policy Advisory Nos. 961–986 and 987–992 were approved on separate motions; other groups (1003–1007, 1008–1019, 1020–1023, and 1032–1044) were approved by separate unanimous votes. Several proposed deletions were explicitly rejected and the district retained its existing versions for groups such as 993–1002, 1024–1030 and 1031.
The board approved Policy Advisory No. 1045 (ECAC — vandalism and reporting suspected crimes and Regulation ECAC-R) and unanimously agreed to table Policy Advisory No. 1046 (IHAL — teaching about religion) for a second reading at the board's July 14, 2026 meeting.
