Lenox council approves sale of city property, adopts utilities budget and sets new hire wage

The Lenox City Council approved several routine actions at its Nov. 25 regular meeting, including the sale of a city-owned parcel, adoption of the municipal utilities budget for 2025 and the wage for a new hire.
Mayor ProTem Tull opened a public hearing on the sale of the property at 205 South Walnut Street; no members of the public spoke. The council opened a sealed bid from Travis Knox for $2,500 and then approved Resolution 24-47 to sell the parcel to Knox. Councilmember Hodges moved the resolution, Cruz seconded, and the roll call vote was all ayes among members present (Tull, Hodges and Cruz); Peterson and Nelson were absent.
The council also approved Resolution 24-48 to establish the wage for Dylan Douglas at $24.00 per hour, with employment to begin Dec. 2, 2024. Cruz moved the wage resolution; Hodges seconded and the motion carried on unanimous ayes of members present.
Separately, the council approved Resolution 24-49 adopting the Lenox Municipal Utilities Budget for 2025. The minutes do not include line-item totals or further budget detail; the motion was moved by Hodges, seconded by Cruz, and carried on unanimous ayes of members present.
The meeting began at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 5:45 p.m. The city administrator and clerk—Allison Kitzman and Dawne Bowman—were present; visitor Colleen Larimer attended.
