Charlestown Township approves bookkeeping services proposal

The Charlestown Township Board of Supervisors voted unanimously April 27 to accept a proposal from Barsz, Gowie, Amon & Fultz to provide municipal bookkeeping services.
Chris Heleniak, township manager, presented the proposal, saying the firm would assign a partner and a senior accountant to the township. He told the board the partner’s hourly rate is $175 and the senior accountant’s hourly rate is $110. Heleniak said the senior accountant would perform day-to-day bookkeeping duties in the township office as scheduled and estimated the engagement would require about 10–15 hours per week. He noted the firm already serves neighboring municipalities including Westtown Township and West Caln Township.
Vice Chair Maddy Carlson moved to accept the proposal; Charles A. Philips seconded. Chairman Kevin R. Kuhn called the vote and all five supervisors — Kevin R. Kuhn, Maddy Carlson, Jill Green, Charles A. Philips and Hugh D. Willig — voted in favor, approving the arrangement. The minutes record no public comment on the item.
The board had no other announcements. With no additional business, Chairman Kuhn adjourned the meeting at 10:40 a.m. The board’s next meeting is scheduled for May 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Charlestown Township Municipal Building, 11 General Warren Blvd., Suite 1, Malvern, Pennsylvania.
