Board awards $514,867 low bid to Wildcat Construction for 109th Street bridge replacement

Lee Barrier, a county facilities representative, read the engineer's estimate of $828,977.10 and said the existing bridge was built before 1935, is structurally deficient, and has posted load restrictions. "The current bridge was constructed prior to 1935 and is structurally deficient, in poor condition, and load restrictions have been posted," Barrier said.
A board member moved to accept Wildcat's bid and a second was recorded. The clerk called the roll and five ayes were recorded; the motion carried.
The contract award authorizes replacement with a reinforced concrete box structure meeting current design standards. No further project schedule details or anticipated completion dates were provided during the meeting.
The board moved on to subsequent procurement items and adjourned at the end of the session.
