At its July 8 meeting the Longswamp Township Board of Supervisors granted conditional revised final plan approval and several waivers for Brandywine‑area school district (BHASD) land‑development work and accepted preliminary/final plans for a separate woodshop expansion and greenhouse project.
Beth Kohl, the township solicitor, summarized the applicant requests and noted the planning commission had recommended approval. The athletic renovations package requested three waivers: relief from a required 30% release‑rate reduction for a two‑year storm (applicants reported 31%–37% reductions), an alternate approach to the minimum three‑inch control orifice using an underdrain and stone filter to keep water depth below one inch, and a change to basin side slopes from 4:1 to 3:1 reflecting shallow basin depth and safe egress. Supervisor Mike Sacks moved to grant conditional revised final plan approval, conditioned on satisfying all items in Hanover’s June 27, 2025 review letter; Don Hickman seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
BHASD representatives also asked the board to accept preliminary/final plans for a woodshop expansion and greenhouse ahead of an expected 90‑day deadline; the board voted to accept those plans for approval and recording.
In zoning business the board addressed two residential solar front‑facing permit waiver requests. Motions by Supervisor Sacks, seconded by Hickman, granted waivers for installations at 575 Centennial Road and 1 North Forrest Road. The minutes record the board voted in favor of both waivers.
The board tabled other engineering items, including updates on the Act 537 plan and the municipal maintenance building, pending further review.
