Sauk Centre council adopts rules of order and confirms annual appointments

Mayor Warren Stone presented the slate of appointments the council approved, including Heidi Leach as Acting Mayor, Stantec as the city engineer, Pemberton Law (city attorney-general) and Nycklemoe Law (city attorney—complaints), Dr. Mari Thomas as medical director, Jared Matthew as chaplain, and multiple liaisons and committee assignments across the HRA Board, Park Board, Planning Commission and others. Council Member Brad Kirckof requested that the city issue an RFP for engineering firms (the council agreed to place that item on the June 2026 agenda).
The council voted to confirm committee seats and annual designations for the official newspaper (Sauk Centre Herald) and the city’s depositories (including MN National Bank—Sauk Centre and Pine Country Bank—Sauk Centre). The record of motions shows the appointments were approved by voice vote with no opposing votes recorded.
Why this matters: annual organizational decisions set the administrative contacts and vendor relationships the council will rely on during the year, and the planned RFP for engineering services signals the council’s intention to review its engineering contract after more than a decade.
