Bradley County Commission approves consent agenda, dozens of budget amendments and moves August work session

At its June 1, 2026 meeting, the Bradley County Commission unanimously approved the May 18 meeting minutes and a broad consent agenda that included dozens of budget amendments across county departments and several appointments.

The consent agenda — presented as an attachment in the meeting packet — included budget amendment requests from the Road Department (multiple capital and equipment items totaling six-figure changes across several entries), the Election Commission, Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Medical Examiner, Juvenile Court, Southeast Tennessee Community Corrections, Parks & Recreation, EMS and the Sheriff’s Office. Notable line items in the packet include Road Department capital purchases (e.g., Vermeer chipper and other equipment purchases), Juvenile Court requests for building improvements ($70,000 directed to building renovations) and Parks & Recreation equipment purchases funded by sale proceeds ($16,975). Blake moved to change the August 24 work session start time from 7:00 P.M. to 12:00 P.M.; the commission approved the change unanimously, 14–0.

Appointments and administrative notes in the packet included the appointment of Denny Collins to the Library Board (term expiring June 30, 2029) and the appointment of Dana Yost to the HCI Committee as the Second District representative (term expiring June 30, 2030); notaries public were listed for presentation.
