Premier Lakes reports algae and reduces aerator noise; district audit finds lake maintenance in compliance

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes updated the River Ridge board on July 23, reporting that the lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are in generally good condition but that seasonal algae growth was observed and plantings are scheduled.
Kurth said the compressor for the Masters Lake has been enclosed in a cabinet and that the sound level "has been reduced from 64 to 52 decibels," which he described as acceptable at the midpoint between the compressor and the screen line. Operations Manager Shane Willis cautioned that the concern is as much the aerator’s tone as the measured decibel level; staff will consider moving the compressor and will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth and report back at the next meeting.
Mr. Willis presented the Annual Quality Assurance audit for lake maintenance and dry retention, reporting overall improvement since Premier Lakes began maintenance, no compliance issues, and that water levels were high this year; he recommended performing the audit earlier next year. The board agreed to delay planting in Lake E4-A until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Condo Association regarding littoral plantings.
