The Wapsie Valley Community School District board approved several 2026–27 contracts and accepted personnel resignations at its May 18 meeting. The contract approvals included Timothy (TJ) Murphy as superintendent with a base salary of $130,000 plus an insurance difference of $13,596 and a $300 annual cell allowance (total $143,896). The motion to approve the contracts carried 3-0.
Other approved contracts included Dean Youngblut as 7–12 principal ($96,000 plus insurance differential and cell), David Dennler as Facilities Operations & Maintenance Manager ($62,382.23 plus insurance and cell), Holly Myers as Fairbank principal, and Alyson Forsyth as Readlyn/Rural principal, each with listed total compensation that includes the insurance difference and cell stipend. The board also approved coaching assignments and instructional hires for the 2026–27 school year and an addendum raising Sydney Reynolds’ salary lane from BA/5 to BA+15.
The board accepted resignations from Kim Arndt (retiring as School Business Official effective Aug. 31, 2026), Logan Flack (JH/assistant varsity baseball coach, effective immediately), and Amanda Bockholt (website position, effective Aug. 31, 2026) and thanked them for their service.
