Liaison updates: Low‑impact development guide, National Grid rate request and Parker Middle School planning

Committee members also noted that National Grid Gas has requested a 10% rate increase; a public input session took place in late March and Badhri Uppiliappan attended and spoke in opposition alongside other state representatives. The committee recorded the rate request and public comment as items to monitor.
Finally, members discussed Parker Middle School’s new building design phase. The design team is considering a combination of geothermal systems and air‑source heat pumps; Spawn cautioned that geothermal may not provide sufficient capacity for a building of that size and recommended the committee track the project and advocate for energy‑efficient choices.
Members did not take formal action on these liaison items but asked staff and liaisons to report updates as plans advance.
