Pennock council approves agenda and consent items; resident to move house to 213 2nd St. NE

At its Aug. 6 meeting the Pennock City Council approved the agenda and a consent agenda that included the July 2, 2024 meeting minutes and payment of August bills.
Deputy Meghan Dimler delivered the sheriff’s report and reported 52.75 deputy hours for the month of July. In citizens forum, resident Mike Schackman said he received a building permit to move a house onto the property at 213 2nd Street NE, tentatively in mid-September. Council member Bruce Bastin asked follow-up questions later in the meeting about material removed from a drainage ditch and questioned the condition of the city truck, which was described as likely having a head gasket problem.
With no further business, Council member Jeff Arends moved to adjourn; Council member Kerry Gross seconded and the motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m.
