Maurice City Council approves agenda and consent items, hears annual financial report

MAURICE, Iowa — The Maurice City Council met in regular session on Nov. 19, 2024, and approved the posted agenda and the consent agenda, which included the Oct. 15 meeting minutes, the treasurer’s report and bills for approval. The clerk recorded the outcome of both motions as "All Ayes," and both motions carried.
The consent agenda listed total disbursements of $27,282.79 for October. Notable payments included a $6,437.50 28E agreement payment to the Sioux County Sheriff, a $2,523.06 QuickBooks subscription charge, a $2,500.00 contribution to the Maurice Fire Department and a $200 transfer to the Revolving Loan Fund. Receipts accepted at the meeting totaled $74,929.71 across funds, including $53,672.15 to the General Fund and $4,991.26 to Road Use. The minutes note that LOST funds received in July were $5,199.30.
A written report from Public Works Director Jeff Van Der Weide was entered into the record; the minutes note receipt of the report but do not record further discussion or action.
