The Maurice City Council on Sept. 17, 2024, voted unanimously to adopt Resolution No. 196, approving the city's Fiscal Year 2023/2024 Street Finance Report. Council member Isaac Holtrop moved the resolution, and Council member Sharon Vermeer seconded; Mayor Randy Hoekstra and the four council members present voted "All Ayes." The motion carried.
The measure finalizes the council's formal acceptance of the street finance report for the fiscal year and records the city's planned street-related finances for 2023/24. The action followed routine items approved earlier in the meeting, including the posted agenda and a consent agenda containing the Aug. 20, 2024 meeting minutes, the treasurer's report and bills for payment.
The consent agenda lists total disbursements for August of $23,275.51 and total receipts of $19,242.90. The minutes note specific payments included in the warrants, such as a $3,701.46 loan payment to Security National Bank and a $1,817.61 payment to OC Sanitation, along with payroll and vendor expenses. The record also shows local option sales tax (LOST) receipts for July of $4,751.78.
A written report from Jeff Van Der Weide, Public Works Director, was entered into the record; the minutes do not record additional action on that report. No old business was listed.
The council concluded the session by voting to adjourn. Council member Isaac Holtrop moved to adjourn, supported by Council member Sharon Vermeer; the motion carried unanimously. The next regular council meeting was set for Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024. The proceedings were signed by Lana Bruxvoort, City Clerk.
