Basabi described frequent constituent calls about spending and vendor relationships and said he would be willing to work with North Miami leaders to identify issues and bring state resources to bear. “The availability is there. I'm interested to work with you all because I want to make sure that Tallahassee sees what I see,” he said.
Mayor Desome and council members thanked the representative and said they would coordinate with him and the administration; officials noted that staff are open to meeting to review contract and procurement questions. Basabi said he would return for a more detailed legislative update once the state budget is finalized.
