Pierz council approves polling-place resolution, accepts park donations and sets sealed-bid schedule

The Pierz City Council on Jan. 26 approved two resolutions and set a sealed-bid procurement schedule for the Pierz Park Project.
Council Member Lynn Egan moved to approve the resolution to designate the city’s polling place for 2026 (minutes list RESOLUTION #2026-0126-1; the motion text references #2026-0122-1). The motion was seconded by Council Member Gary Berg and carried unanimously. The council also approved a resolution to accept donations for the Pierz Park Project (minutes list RESOLUTION #2026-0126-2; the motion text references #2026-0122-2); that motion was moved by Council Member Lynn Egan, seconded by City Clerk Sarah Fyten, and carried unanimously.
Council members approved a sealed-bid process for the park project. The schedule recorded in the minutes is: advertise/post in the newspaper Feb. 1; submission deadline Feb. 17 at 4:30 p.m.; public opening Feb. 17 at 4:45 p.m.; and council consideration/acceptance of bids at the Feb. 23 council meeting. Council Member Don Bujalski moved to approve the sealed-bid plan and Council Member Gary Berg seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Council Member Lynn Egan reported that donations for the park project continue to arrive and that the fundraising goal is nearing completion, expressing optimism that the project may be completed in full if current momentum continues.
City Administrator Laura Wacker told the council the Board of Appeal and Equalization is scheduled for April 16 at 1:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
