Pierz City Council approves January financial reports, permits and $3,000 school donation

The Pierz City Council on Feb. 9 unanimously approved routine municipal business, including the Jan. 26 minutes and the meeting agenda, the city’s January claims report totaling $619,030.80 and the treasurer’s report showing $3,294,497.57 on hand.
City Treasurer Kaye Stangl presented both the claims and treasurer’s reports. Council Member Don Bujalski moved approval of the claims report and the treasurer’s report; Council Member Gary Berg seconded both motions and each carried unanimously.
The council also approved two planning and zoning requests for property at 304 Karst St. submitted by Nicholas Lochner: a small accessory structure permit and a fence permit. Council Member Gary Berg moved to approve the planning and zoning recommendations; Council Member Don Bujalski seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
On a separate motion, the council approved a $3,000 donation to Pierz Public School. Council Member Gary Berg moved to approve the donation and Council Member Don Bujalski seconded; the vote was unanimous.
Mayor John Perleberg and council members emphasized these items were routine approvals. The meeting record shows all motions carried unanimously. The council adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
