Northfield council OKs Bay Pointe IT contract and accepts NOPEC grant; fire station bids due Feb. 23

At its Feb. 22 meeting the Village of Northfield council approved a managed IT services agreement with Bay Pointe Technology Services and authorized acceptance of Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) 2023 Energized Community Grant funds.
Engineer Daniel Collins told council that the village received IT proposals from five contractors and, after evaluation by village staff and officials, recommended Bay Pointe Technology Services. Council read Resolution No. 2023-07, suspended the three-reading rule and adopted the emergency resolution by unanimous roll-call vote to authorize the mayor to enter a managed services agreement.
Council also read and adopted Resolution No. 2023-08, authorizing all actions necessary to accept NOPEC 2023 Energized Community Grant funds. Both emergency resolutions were adopted after motions to suspend the three-reading rule and subsequent adoption motions, each recorded with unanimous roll-call votes.
Collins additionally reported that the bid opening for the fire station project is scheduled for Feb. 23 at 1:00 p.m. in council chambers; he said the village expects multiple bidders. In other nonlegislative business, the Recreation Board announced its next meeting on Mar. 1 and that Adult Easter Egg Hunt tickets are on sale through Mar. 17; Mayor Domzalski announced Veterans banner sales are open through Mar. 31 with order information available from the Service Department at 199 Ledge Road.
No executive session was held and the council adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
