Bellechester council reviews reports, sets ordinance-enforcement procedure and addresses local concerns

At the May 21 meeting, Bellechester council members heard a series of administrative reports and local updates.
City Clerk Lisa Redepenning reported a $599 insurance reimbursement from the Legion and said the interim lining project loan has been paid in full. Treasurer Kyle McKeown distributed a past-due list and public-works staff reported that well parts have been ordered. Mayor Jody Gordon told the council Ag Partners plans to blacktop its lot to reduce dust.
The council discussed ordinance enforcement with representatives from the Goodhue County Sheriff's Department and agreed the city will document each violation with photographs and detailed notes as a standard procedure. Council members requested that Poncelet Metals place rock on the north side of the old hardware store to reduce mud and address a property with an open roof and boarded windows; members also discussed park mowing and a report that someone is living in a camper on private property.
The meeting closed after a motion by Rich Majerus, seconded by Nick Keller, to adjourn; minutes record the meeting adjourned at 7:11.
