Council approves Goodhue County agreements, sets pool-ordinance hearing and OKs building permit

Bellechester council approved a building permit, accepted agreements with Goodhue County for building-code and prosecution services, and scheduled a public hearing for Pool and Spa Ordinance No. 36 on Dec. 18.
At its Nov. 20 meeting the Bellechester City Council approved multiple administrative items, including a private building permit, county-service agreements and a future public hearing on a pool ordinance.
The council approved a building permit application submitted by Jason Ferguson after determining the plans met regulations; the motion to approve was made by Rich Majerus and seconded by Jered Buxengard. Council then authorized a 2025 Building Code Agreement with Goodhue County on a motion by Mark Gerken, seconded by Jered Buxengard, and approved a prosecution-services agreement with Goodhue County on a motion by Jered Buxengard, seconded by Rich Majerus; all motions carried.
Council also set a public hearing for Pool and Spa Ordinance No. 36 for the Dec. 18 meeting on a motion by Rich Majerus, seconded by Kyle Blattner. No substantive debate on the ordinance content is recorded in the minutes; the hearing is scheduled to allow public input and formal consideration at the December meeting.
