Bellechester updates sewer lining and water-meter projects; approves payment requests

The Bellechester City Council on Nov. 20 approved contractor pay applications and heard staff updates on major utility projects.
City Engineer Matt Mohs told council the sewer-lining project is on track for substantial completion in mid-December, though the billings in Pay Application No. 3 include change-order costs and extra cleaning and televising work. Council member Rich Majerus moved to approve Pay Application No. 3; Jered Buxengard seconded the motion and it carried.
On the water-meter project, staff reported that all meters have been installed and spare units are available; permitting was completed by the county and building inspection was scheduled. The council approved Pay Application No. 1 for the meter project on a motion by Kyle Blattner, seconded by Rich Majerus.
Clerk Lisa Redepenning reported completion and state submission of the lead service-line inventory: no lead lines were found, 10 service lines remain classified as "unknown," and 8 galvanized lines were documented. Additional grant funds for addressing unknown lines are expected to be available in spring.
Council also approved a proposal from CRW Architects for an ADA self-evaluation to identify accessibility improvements, on a motion by Rich Majerus seconded by Kyle Blattner.
