The council heard that six sewer pipe repairs were identified that will require excavation and that one manhole cover needs repair; the work was described as starting in early October pending scheduling. City staff said change orders will be required for issues at a church and a few individual properties; the minutes state no work on private property is planned for the sewer project, while any in‑home work is tied to the separate water meter project.
The water meter project team has begun contacting residents to schedule installation appointments. In related utility updates the minutes note quarterly water and wastewater samples are complete, discharge is expected at the end of October, a well will receive a new chemical to address occasional water color issues, and replacement pumps are on order.
Council members did not record substantive public comment on these project updates during the meeting. The engineer’s report was entered into the record and the clerk noted logistics and funding timing questions elsewhere on the agenda.
