Swisher wastewater operator reports pump failure; technician to inspect motor

Staff said voltage reaches the motor but the motor does not run, indicating a probable motor failure. A technician was scheduled to pull the motor the following day for diagnosis; staff said they expect a likely rebuild or replacement and estimated the cost at several thousand dollars.
Until repairs are complete, the plant is operating on the alternate influent pump. Staff noted two storm pumps can be used to reduce lagoon levels if necessary, but they do not expect to reach that condition. Staff also described planned seasonal maintenance work, including winterizing the UV system and work on blower equipment.
