The Swisher City Council reviewed bids for a sanitary sewer maintenance package on Oct. 14 and moved to accept the responsive low bidder to perform camera cleaning and related services for four initial sewer regions.
Staff reported two unresponsive bidders and one responsive bid of roughly $25,000 that covered the full scope for the first four sewer regions. A competing responsive bid came in around $33,000. Staff recommended proceeding on the first four regions to evaluate maintenance needs and to avoid paying for more extensive work until results are known.
Council voted on the recommendation and approved the contract award by roll call. Council members emphasized the desire to limit current work to the initial regions and to monitor findings before expanding the project.
