The North Butler Community School District Board of Education completed organizational business Nov. 11, electing Ty Crawford‑Miller as board president and naming Laurie Shultz vice‑president.
Nominations were received for both posts; a roll call produced the vote that led to Crawford‑Miller’s election, with Amanda Lund recorded as voting for Laurie Shultz during the presidential roll call. Later, on a motion by Jordan Nolz and seconded by Heather Shook, the board approved Laurie Shultz to serve as vice‑president.
The board also set its regular monthly meetings for the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. and made routine appointments: Ahlers Cooney Attorneys as school attorney and the Butler County Tribune and Greene Recorder as the district’s official publications. The board designated Lincoln Savings Bank as the official depository with a $15 million limit.
Members appointed representatives to county conference boards (Amanda Lund and Laurie Shultz), a negotiations team (Laurie Shultz, Amanda Lund and Jordan Nolz as substitute) and a facilities/buildings and grounds team (Jordan Nolz and Ty Crawford‑Miller).
The board unanimously approved three applications to the School Budget Review Committee: $8,918.32 for special education administrative costs associated with the River Hills Consortium for 2025–26; $5,230.02 for similar costs associated with the Lied Consortium for 2025–26; and $20,733.00 for English‑learner services for the 2023–24 school year.
The board approved personnel motions including accepting Denise Hansen as a substitute teacher and approving volunteers Kevin Clipperton and Chad Austin for basketball duties. It also approved a snow‑removal and sanding bid from DME Snowplowing & Sanding for the Greene site. The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
