Randolph City Council OKs liquor license for tractor pull, approves firetruck tire purchase and tables ordinance hearing

At its July 2 regular meeting at Randolph City Hall, the Randolph City Council approved a liquor license for the Randolph Nationals Tractor Pull event, authorized purchase of tires for the city firetruck, and tabled setting a public hearing date to revise the wording of Ordinance 545-24.

Mayor Gary Farwell opened the meeting and recorded attendance: Councilmembers Earlywine, Avey, Berger, Hardy and Richardson were present; City Clerk Mary King-Bateman was absent. The council noted that the claims report was not available and will be reviewed at the next meeting.

Councilmember Berger moved and Councilmember Hardy seconded approval of the consent agenda; the motion carried on a unanimous vote.

Councilmember Avey moved and Councilmember Berger seconded approval of a liquor license for the Randolph Nationals Tractor Pull Event; council members voted unanimously to approve the license.

Councilmember Berger moved and Councilmember Richardson seconded a motion to table setting a public hearing date to revise the wording of Ordinance 545-24. The motion carried unanimously. No hearing date was set at the July 2 meeting.

Councilmember Hardy presented tire quotes for the city firetruck, reporting a price of $351.00 per tire from Country Tire in Shenandoah. Councilmember Berger moved to approve the purchase; Councilmember Richardson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

Councilmember Avey moved to adjourn; Councilmember Berger seconded. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.

The council will review the previously unavailable claims report at its next regular meeting.
