At the March 24 meeting the board authorized a Green Light Go grant application (20% match estimated at $130,952), tabled the Milnor Road turnback item pending PennDOT review, renewed a financial security for Meyers Enterprises, approved multiple bid requests and appointed Chris Ardinger assistant EMC, among other routine actions.
Beyond the GABSA funding decision and the sewer-rate increase, the Antrim Township Board of Supervisors approved several administrative and capital actions on March 24.
The board authorized the Administrator to sign a single application for a Green Light Go Grant that would support upgrades to six traffic signals; if awarded the grant would require a 20% township match estimated at $130,952. The board also authorized C.S. Davidson to advertise requests for bids for two culverts on W. Weaver Road and stabilization work on Shinham Road using Liquid Fuels funds and separately for the Martins Mill Bridge Access Road project.
The board renewed the financial security being held for Meyers Enterprises on Zarger Road in the same amount of $719,579.04 as part of the annual review. The sale of township equipment continued: the 2016 Ford F350 sold for $25,300 and the 2008 Ford F450 Crane Truck sold for $5,000, and the board authorized the sale of a 2014 Cimline tar buggy on MuniciBid.
Administratively, the board appointed Administrator/Roadmaster Chris Ardinger as Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator and approved workers' compensation coverage for Rescue Hose Fire Police if they assist at the 59th Annual Sidewalk Days on July 10–11. The Milnor Road Turnback Program approval was tabled so Traffic Planning & Design could consult with PennDOT and PennDOT could inspect a culvert on Milnor Road.
Public comments covered a range of local concerns including access to a new development off S. Young Road, contact information for Norfolk Southern for derailment response, e-bike and youth fishing rules at township parks, and which municipality will sweep a road that lies partly in the Borough and partly in the township. GABSA announced an open house on April 4.
The board recessed at 9:01 p.m. for an executive session and reconvened at 9:24 p.m.; Alleman announced legal and real estate matters were discussed. The meeting adjourned at 9:26 p.m.
