Riceville board approves personnel hires, open enrollment and Keystone AEA appointment

The Riceville Community School District board approved several personnel actions and an agency appointment at its Nov. 17 meeting.
The board approved one open enrollment out to Leroy in a motion by Board Member Eastman, seconded by Board Member McCarthy; the minutes record the motion as approved (4 Ayes). The board then approved hiring Lonnie Beyer as a part-time custodian. The custodian hire was recorded by roll call as Eastman, Hale, Guertin and McCarthy voting Aye.
The board also approved Barb Gesell as a volunteer girls basketball coach and Cameran Moellers as a substitute teacher (roll call recorded Aye: Eastman, Hale, Guertin and McCarthy). Those personnel motions were moved by McCarthy and seconded by Hale.
In a separate personnel appointment, the board approved a motion by Eastman, seconded by Hale to appoint Michael Haluska as Director, District 1 for Keystone Area Education Agency; the minutes record the motion as approved (4 Ayes).
The actions were routine personnel and representative decisions; the motions and roll-call tallies are recorded in the official minutes.
The board set its next regular meeting for Dec. 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
