During the public forum on June 24, Betsy Paret updated commissioners on the Milton/Georgia 'Small Business Meeting of the Minds' and highlighted an upcoming special business night at the Farmers Market on July 14. She said a volunteer graphic artist is helping develop an 'Explore Milton' map to promote local businesses.
Brandy "b" Companion of Tiny b’s Café said she is working to build community among local businesses and told the commission she has applied for a position on the EDC. Irene Wrenner, Chair of the Essex EDC, suggested the town explore ways to encourage political candidates to spend campaign funds locally to support Milton and Vermont businesses.
These items were presented during the public forum portion of the meeting as community updates and suggestions; the commission did not take formal action on the proposals during the June 24 meeting.
