Milton EDC to hold reorganization in July as multiple member vacancies are announced

The Economic Development Commission will reorganize at its July meeting, electing officers and deciding meeting frequency; the Town Manager noted that the manager need not serve as chair and appointments to fill vacancies are tentatively set for the July 6 Selectboard meeting.
Chris Taylor, Town Manager and chair, told the Economic Development Commission on June 24 that the July meeting will serve as the commission's reorganization for the new fiscal year. The commission will elect a Chair, Vice Chair and Clerk and will vote on the regular meeting schedule.
Taylor said the Town Manager does not necessarily need to serve as Chair, suggesting a community-led commission could be advantageous. He also reported membership changes: Michael Joseph is not seeking reappointment, leaving up to two community-member vacancies and up to four business-member vacancies. Appointments to fill vacancies are tentatively scheduled for the Selectboard meeting on July 6.
At the same meeting the commission approved the May 27 minutes (motion by Robert Lombard, second by Lindsey Ruhl; Anthony Micklus abstained). No formal reorganization votes took place on June 24; the elections and scheduling decisions are set for the July meeting.
