Center City Council unanimously adopts 2026 budget, approves wages and clerk conference attendance

The Center City Council unanimously approved the Final Budget and Levy for 2026 at its Dec. 2 meeting, adopting Resolution 2025-12-02 after Councilmember Mark Wolcott summarized final budget numbers.
Wolcott presented the budget totals and the council voted on a motion that passed 5-0. The Council also approved a modified 2026 wage and insurance proposal recommended by the Budget Committee; Councilmember Wolcott said the Public Works supervisor received a pay increase tied to obtaining a water license. Council voted to approve the wage and insurance proposal by unanimous roll call.
Clerk Dana Miron received authorization to attend the Minnesota Clerks and Finance Officers Association (MCFOA) Annual Conference in March and the Clerk Institute in May after a motion by Wolcott and second by Lloyd Vetter, approved 5-0. The Council also approved the 2026 meeting dates with two adjustments to the February and November schedules after a motion by Councilmember Sally Swanson.
In staff reports, the council noted that City Planner John Anderson will leave the City effective Jan. 1, 2026 and that the Municipal Development Group (MDG) may supply a replacement. The council said it will be kept updated as staffing is resolved.
