The Center City Council voted on Oct. 7 to adopt an assessment on the property at 117 Busch Ave to recover expenses incurred by the city.
Council Member Mark Wolcott moved to approve Resolution 2025-10-07-B and Council Member Sally Swanson seconded; the motion carried unanimously, ayes 5, nays 0. The resolution adopts an assessment to the property for expenses the city incurred (the resolution text is recorded in the minutes as Resolution 2025-10-07-B).
During old-business discussion the council also noted that Hursh Iron Works has continued to fail to meet requirements for the City of Taylors Falls; the council will continue to monitor the situation and may attend a Taylors Falls Planning Commission meeting later in the month. Mayor Jill Behnke reported she has been in touch with Chisago County and that title work for the Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail (SIRT) is underway.
The minutes do not record public comment or additional details about the assessment amount or specific violations at Hursh Iron Works; those details were not specified in the meeting record.
