Canton council OKs ballfield repairs and infield work using park fund

Amanda Jansen, speaking for the softball league, said the league will purchase plastic tile to place on the tops of the fences.
Councilmember George Hafner moved to approve the recommended improvements and Dowling seconded; the motion carried. The minutes state the work will be paid from the park/ballfield fund. The council also noted that replacement of field lights will be addressed as a separate, ongoing item.
The minutes do not record a roll‑call vote or dollar amounts for the work; the action authorizes staff to begin repairs and contracting consistent with the Parks/Rec committee recommendations.
