Caledonia council interviews civil engineering firms, refers one interview to committee

Caledonia — During its March 24 meeting the Caledonia City Council interviewed three civil engineering firms that submitted proposals for city engineering services: SEH, WHKS and Davy Engineering. The council heard presentations or conducted interviews with representatives of those firms.
Bolton & Menk was unable to appear because of a family emergency. Rather than delay action, the council referred the Bolton & Menk interview to the General Government Committee, which will conduct the interview and bring a recommendation back to the full council at its April 14 meeting. No hiring or contract award was made at the March 24 meeting.
Council members took no formal action on firm selection at the meeting; further vetting and a committee recommendation are expected before any contract decision.
