Riceville board elects Kyle Guertin president, names committees and regular meeting schedule

At the Dec. 15 organizational meeting the Riceville board elected Kyle Guertin as president and Audrey McCarthy as vice president, established standing committees, and set regular meetings for the third Monday at 6 p.m.
At the Riceville Community School District organizational meeting Dec. 15, Jennifer Dunn, the board secretary/treasurer, administered oaths and canvassed votes as the board reconstituted for the coming year.
The board elected Kyle Guertin as board president in a 5‑0 vote; Audrey McCarthy was elected vice‑president by a 3‑2 vote over Lyle Eastman. Dunn was appointed and sworn in as board secretary/treasurer.
The board named members to standing committees: Shanna Hale for the School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC); Lyle Eastman and Kyle Guertin for Building & Grounds; Audrey McCarthy for the Mitchell County Conference Board; and Liz Baethke for the Howard County Conference Board. The board also set regular meetings for the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
